“ Another Yelp find and was also confirmed by the hotel desk staff member as authentic Mexican food. Taqueria El Palenque is a smaller establishment but very busy. We arrived just past 5 pm on Sunday to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. No specials and no frozen margaritas - was the only downside to our visit. The salsa was served warm, and even though it was somewhat more on the liquid side, the taste was incredible. Tortilla chips were nice and light. Our entrées, Fijitas Mixta, and Plato Alhambra de Camaron were fantastic. Portions were generous as I couldn't finish mine. Prices were very extremely reasonable, and the service was par for such a busy establishment. Well done, Taqueria El Palenque, well done. ”

“ Better than a standard taqueria! The hostess seated us quickly, and a waitress immediately took our drink order. Drinks, chips, and warm (temperature - not spicy) salsa were rapidly served! The salsa is watery and almost orange - very unusual - but good. Then we ordered fajitas from the menu. The Fajitas Mixta has beef, chicken, and a lot of shrimp - for only $13! For $1 more, we could've added chorizo - but we didn't need the sausage today. The food (and entire experience) were way better than the nondescript exterior would indicate! Fantastic food at great prices. Onsite parking is easy. Service is quick, if slightly impersonal. A bit of Spanish helps smooth the order process. but you can always just point to the menu. ”
